Aluminium Insulated Windows Ireland
S98 Thermally Broken System

S98 Insulated Aluminium Windows

The S98 is Bright Vista Group’s thermally broken aluminium insulated window system for Ireland: 75mm to 90mm deep profiles, polyamide thermal break technology, U-values from 1.1 W/m²K with triple glazing, and 44 dB acoustic reduction. For Irish homes where Atlantic weather, urban noise, and energy efficiency all place demands on the building envelope, the S98 provides a stronger response than a standard aluminium system.

Aluminium windows are often chosen because they look clean and contemporary. They offer slim lines, a stronger frame, and a finish that suits both modern homes and well-planned renovations. The S98 adds something more to that appeal: better insulation. That makes it a more balanced choice for buyers who want aluminium style without giving up everyday comfort.

In practical Irish conditions, the thermal break makes a measurable difference. Uninsulated aluminium frames conduct cold directly from outside to inside, creating cold spots near window reveals and increasing heating demand. A thermally broken system like the S98 reduces this conduction, contributing to lower heat loss, more even indoor temperatures, and a warmer window reveal — which also reduces condensation on the internal frame.

S98 Insulated Specifications

Thermal Performance

U-values from 1.4 W/m²K (double glazed, SEAI grant-eligible) to 1.1 W/m²K (triple glazed). Achieved via polyamide thermal break separating internal and external aluminium sections

Frame Depth

75mm to 90mm deep thermally broken aluminium profiles. The deeper frame accommodates thicker glazing units and the polyamide thermal bar without increasing the visible sightline.

Acoustic Performance

High-density EPDM gaskets providing up to 44 dB sound reduction. Relevant for Dublin city locations, urban roads, and rail corridors.

Security Hardware

Multi-point locking hardware as standard across all S98 window configurations. Hardware is available in stainless, satin, and RAL powder-coat finishes to match the frame colour.

The S98 is also a practical fit for different project types. It can work well in new builds, upgrades, and renovations where the client wants a more modern frame but still needs strong performance in Irish conditions. Some buyers may prefer double glazed aluminium windows with a more practical budget range, while others may be more focused on achieving stronger insulation overall. The S98 sits well in that conversation because it combines both practicality and a more refined finish.

At Bright Vista Group Ltd, we see the S98 as a window system that gives homeowners a better balance of style and function. It is modern, well insulated, and built to suit the way homes in Ireland need to perform. For clients who want a stronger everyday window with a clean aluminium look, it offers a dependable and attractive option.

What Does Thermally Broken Mean in the S98?

Standard aluminium window frames are a single piece of aluminium running from the cold exterior to the warm interior. In cold weather this creates cold bridging: heat conducts directly from inside to outside through the metal frame, cooling the interior window reveal and increasing heat loss.

Thermally broken aluminium windows like the S98 interrupt this conduction with a polyamide bar — a non-conductive section inserted between the interior and exterior aluminium. The polyamide bar has approximately 1,000 times lower thermal conductivity than aluminium, effectively stopping the frame from acting as a heat conduit.

In practical terms this means: warmer interior window reveals, lower condensation on the frame, reduced heat loss through the window opening, and a contribution to a more stable indoor temperature.

Aluminium Insulated Windows Prices in Ireland: What to Expect

S98 thermally broken aluminium insulated windows are positioned at the mid-to-upper range of the aluminium window market in Ireland:

  • Standard double glazed uPVC replacement windows: approximately 400 to 900 euros per unit installed
  • Standard aluminium windows (non-broken): approximately 500 to 1,000 euros per unit installed
  • S98 thermally broken aluminium insulated windows: approximately 700 to 1,400 euros per unit installed
  • Alu-clad composite windows (E3): approximately 900 to 1,800 euros per unit installed

For a 3-bedroom home requiring 8 to 12 window replacements, a full S98 installation typically runs 7,000 to 16,000 euros. SEAI grant support (up to 4,000 euros for a detached home) can offset a significant portion of this cost.

S98 Aluminium Insulated Windows and the 2026 SEAI Grant

The S98’s double glazed configuration achieves U-values of 1.4 W/m²K — exactly at the SEAI Windows and Doors Grant threshold. For eligible homeowners replacing pre-2011 windows, the 2026 SEAI grant provides up to 4,000 euros toward window replacement costs depending on dwelling type.

Bright Vista Group is an SEAI-registered contractor (No. 19930). We provide product Declarations of Performance and the contractor documentation your application requires.

Frequently asked questions

Aluminium Insulated Windows Ireland

The S98 is a thermally broken aluminium insulated window system with 75mm to 90mm deep profiles, polyamide thermal break technology, U-values from 1.4 W/m²K (double glazed) to 1.1 W/m²K (triple glazed), and 44 dB acoustic reduction. It is CE marked and tested to EN 14351-1.

A thermally broken aluminium window has a polyamide bar inserted between the interior and exterior aluminium sections of the frame. This bar has very low thermal conductivity, preventing heat from conducting through the frame from inside to outside (cold bridging). Thermally broken frames produce warmer interior reveals, lower condensation, and reduced heat loss compared to standard single-piece aluminium frames.

Standard non-broken aluminium windows typically achieve U-values of 2.0 W/m²K or worse, well below the SEAI grant threshold of 1.4 W/m²K. The S98’s thermally broken frame achieves 1.4 W/m²K with double glazing and 1.1 W/m²K with triple glazing. For Irish homes where energy performance and SEAI grant eligibility matter, the S98 is a significant upgrade over standard aluminium.

Double glazed uPVC windows typically achieve U-values from 1.2 to 1.6 W/m²K. The S98 achieves 1.4 W/m²K (double glazed) to 1.1 W/m²K (triple glazed) — comparable or better performance in a slimmer, longer-lasting frame. Aluminium frames last 40 to 60 years without the discolouration or brittleness that affects uPVC in exposed Irish conditions. For long-term value, the S98 is typically the better investment despite the higher upfront cost.

Yes. The S98 double glazed configuration achieves U-values of 1.4 W/m²K, meeting the SEAI Windows and Doors Grant 2026 threshold. The triple glazed configuration achieves 1.1 W/m²K — further below the threshold. Bright Vista Group is an SEAI-registered contractor (No. 19930) and provides the documentation required for your grant application.

S98 thermally broken aluminium windows typically run 700 to 1,400 euros per unit supplied and fitted, depending on size, glazing spec, and configuration. A 3-bedroom home requiring 8 to 12 replacements typically runs 7,000 to 16,000 euros. SEAI grant support of up to 4,000 euros is available for eligible homes.
