Residential Doors Ireland
Aluminium, Composite, Steel and Alu-Clad Front Doors
Front & Residential Doors
A residential front door is one of the highest-visibility elements of an Irish home — it defines the entrance, sets the kerb appeal, and is the primary security barrier. Bright Vista Group supplies residential doors in four materials for Irish homes: aluminium (Aurora designer and S98 security ranges), composite (foam-core GRP skin systems), steel (security and utility configurations), and alu-clad (timber interior, aluminium exterior). Every system is SEAI grant-eligible.
The right material depends on the priority. Aluminium delivers slim profiles and designer finish options. Composite gives excellent thermal performance with a traditional-looking door at a mid-range price point. Steel provides the strongest security specification at ground level. Alu-clad delivers natural timber warmth inside with zero external maintenance.
At Bright Vista Group, we supply and install residential doors across Dublin and Ireland. Free site survey. SEAI grant documentation provided. Showroom at JFK Enterprise Centre, Bluebell, Dublin 12, by appointment.
Our residential range is built around that balance. We offer doors that suit both traditional and contemporary homes, with strong materials, solid finishes, and a focus on long-term performance. For some homeowners, the priority is style. For others, it is security or durability. Most want all three.
Residential Door Specification
Security
Multi-point locking as standard across all four door materials. Anti-snap cylinders prevent the most common lock-attack method used in Irish burglaries. PAS 24 (Enhanced Security) certification available on aluminium, composite, and steel ranges.
Weather Performance
EPDM perimeter seals tested to EN 14351-1. Composite doors include a GRP outer skin that is unaffected by moisture and UV, no warping, swelling, or paint degradation regardless of exposure. All materials rated Class 7A or better for water tightness.
Thermal Performance
Aluminium and alu-clad door systems achieve U-values as low as 0.9 W/m²K. Composite foam-core doors typically achieve 1.2 to 1.4 W/m²K, meeting the SEAI grant threshold. Steel doors with insulated cores achieve comparable thermal performance to composite. All systems are SEAI grant-eligible.
Customisation
Available in aluminium, composite, steel, and alu-clad. Aluminium and alu-clad: full RAL colour range with dual-colour option. Composite: available in a range of solid colours and woodgrain foil finishes. Steel: standard powder-coat range with custom RAL available on request.
SEAI Grant Eligible
All BVG residential door systems are available in SEAI grant-eligible configurations. The 2026 SEAI Windows and Doors Grant provides up to €800 per external door, maximum two doors (€1,600 total). Bright Vista Group is an SEAI-registered contractor (No. 19930).
Accessibility
Low-profile Part M compliant thresholds available across the residential door range. Required for new homes and extensions under Part M of the Irish Building Regulations.
That is why a residential door should feel like part of the home, not just a separate feature. It should work with the design of the property, support comfort inside, and continue looking strong over time.
At Bright Vista Group Ltd, our residential doors are designed to do exactly that. They help create a better first impression, improve everyday performance, and give homeowners a more dependable entrance solution for real life in Ireland.

Composite front doors are the most popular residential door replacement in Ireland. A foam-core composite door has a polyurethane or CFC-free foam insulation core, wrapped in a GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) outer skin. The GRP skin does not warp, swell, crack, or absorb moisture, and unlike timber, it never needs repainting.
Composite doors from Bright Vista Group are available in a wide range of woodgrain and solid colour finishes, with multi-point locking, anti-snap cylinders, and low-profile accessible thresholds as standard. U-values typically run from 1.2 to 1.4 W/m²K, meeting the SEAI Windows and Doors Grant eligibility threshold.
For Irish homeowners who want the traditional look of a panelled timber door with the thermal performance and low maintenance of a modern system, composite is the most common choice.
Steel Residential Doors for Irish Homes
Steel residential doors are used where security is the overriding priority, typically as back doors, side access gates, utility entrance doors, and secondary access points where a standard composite or aluminium door does not provide adequate resistance to forced entry.
Bright Vista Group’s steel door systems use galvanised steel skins over an insulated core, with multi-point locking and heavy-duty hinges designed for high-security residential and utility applications. Available in standard sizes and in powder-coat finishes. PAS 24 security certification available on selected configurations.
For homes with a utility garage, rear lane access, or any position where a more robust door is specified, steel provides the highest forced-entry resistance in the BVG residential range.
Front Door Replacement and the 2026 SEAI Grant
The 2026 SEAI Windows and Doors Grant includes external door replacements — up to €800 per door, maximum two doors (€1,600 total). Composite, aluminium, alu-clad, and steel door systems from BVG are all available in SEAI grant-eligible configurations meeting the required U-value threshold.
Bright Vista Group is an SEAI-registered contractor (No. 19930). We provide Declarations of Performance and contractor documentation for SEAI applications.
Security Doors for Irish Homes: What the Specifications Mean
Front door security in Ireland is evaluated on three criteria:
- Locking system: Multi-point locking is standard across all four BVG door materials. The multi-point system engages simultaneously at top, bottom, and frame centre, distributing resistance force across the full door height.
- Cylinder specification: Anti-snap cylinders prevent the most common residential burglary technique, snapping the euro cylinder to gain entry. Available as standard or upgrade across all four materials.
- Security certification: PAS 24 (Enhanced Security) is available on the Aurora aluminium range, S98 aluminium security range, selected composite configurations, and steel security doors. RC2 certification is available on the Aurora range. Certificates available on request.
For the highest security specification, the S98 aluminium security door (8-point locking, galvanised steel reinforcement) and steel door systems provide the maximum forced-entry resistance in the residential range. Composite doors with PAS 24 cylinders provide good everyday security for standard Irish homes.

Frequently asked questions
Residential Doors Ireland
BVG supplies residential front and back doors in four materials: aluminium (Aurora designer range and S98 security range), composite (foam-core GRP systems in woodgrain and solid colour finishes), steel (high-security residential and utility configurations), and alu-clad (timber interior, aluminium exterior). We also supply fire-rated safety doors and commercial sliding systems for patio and extension openings.
Yes. Bright Vista Group supplies composite front doors in Ireland. A composite door has a foam insulation core wrapped in a GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) skin. The GRP outer is dimensionally stable, it does not warp, swell, or crack, and requires no repainting. Composite doors are available in woodgrain and solid colour finishes with multi-point locking as standard. U-values typically run from 1.2 to 1.4 W/m²K, making them SEAI grant-eligible.
For maximum security, BVG’s S98 aluminium door (8-point locking, galvanised steel reinforcement) and steel door systems offer the highest forced-entry resistance. For standard residential security, composite doors with PAS 24-certified cylinders are the most popular choice in Ireland, combining good security specification with low maintenance and a traditional appearance.
Most single front door replacements complete in one working day. Combined front and back door replacements typically take one to two days. The process includes removal and disposal of the existing door, fitting of the new doorset, perimeter sealing, and hardware commissioning.
Yes. The 2026 SEAI Windows and Doors Grant provides up to €800 per external door, maximum two doors (€1,600 total). Composite, aluminium, alu-clad, and steel door systems are all available in SEAI grant-eligible configurations. Bright Vista Group is an SEAI-registered contractor (No. 19930).
The choice typically comes down to the style of the home and the design priority. Composite doors suit traditional-looking Irish homes, they are available in woodgrain finishes that give the appearance of a painted timber door. Aluminium suits contemporary homes, slim profiles, large glass panels, and a wide RAL colour range. Aluminium systems also offer better thermal performance (U-values from 0.9 W/m²K vs composite at 1.2-1.4 W/m²K). We advise on the right option during the free site survey.
BVG supplies entrance and external doors in all four residential materials (aluminium, composite, steel, alu-clad) plus fire-rated safety doors and commercial sliding systems for patio openings and extensions. All are available in SEAI grant-eligible configurations.
